Privacy Policy

This page explains what data WhatIsMyIPNow.com processes, why, and which other companies are involved. There are no user accounts on this site, and we do not sell personal information.

What we process

  • Your IP address. Every website receives the IP address of its visitors. We use it to show it to you and to look up its approximate location, ISP and ASN.
  • What you enter in a tool. Server-side tools (DNS, WHOIS, ping, traceroute, port, SSL, blacklist and website checks) send the IP address or domain name you enter to our server, which runs the check and returns the result. Calculators and converters run in your browser and send nothing.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting and security providers keep short-lived technical logs (which can include IP addresses, pages requested and browser type) to operate the site and protect it against abuse.

We do not keep a history of your lookups, we do not build user profiles, and we do not ask for your name or email address. If you write to us, we use your email only to reply.

Other companies involved

  • Cloudflare delivers and protects the site (security, bot protection, caching) and provides Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies.
  • Amazon Web Services hosts our server and the ipv4. and ipv6. command-line endpoints.
  • Google AdSense shows ads (see below).
  • Google Maps shows the map on the homepage, IP lookup results and My Location. The map is loaded from Google, which can set its own cookies.
  • Speedchecker provides the speed test widget on the speed test page.
  • MaxMind provides the location database. It is stored on our server, so no data is sent to MaxMind when you use the site.
  • Public DNS resolvers and internet registries receive the domain or IP address you look up (not your own IP address) when a tool queries them.

Cookies and advertising

This site does not set its own tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a security cookie such as __cf_bm to tell humans from bots.

Ads are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this site and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, and you can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent by Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Advertising cookies set by Google may count as "sharing" under some US state laws (such as the CCPA/CPRA). To opt out, turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, block third-party cookies in your browser, or contact us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to its use. Because we do not keep lookup histories or accounts, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. For requests, use the contact page.

This site is not directed at children under 13.

Changes and contact

We update this policy when the site changes. Questions: see the contact page.
