About WhatIsMyIPNow
WhatIsMyIPNow.com is a free website of IP, DNS and network tools. It shows your public IPv4 and IPv6 address the moment you open it, and it helps you check things such as DNS records, open ports, SSL certificates, blacklists and VPN leaks. There is no account, no app to install and no paid tier. The site went online in 2024 and is run independently, without investors.
What you can do here
- See your own connection: your public IP address, ISP, ASN and approximate location (homepage, What Is My ISP).
- Look up any IP or domain: IP Lookup, IP WHOIS, DNS Lookup, Reverse DNS, IP Blacklist Checker.
- Test a server or a network: Ping, Traceroute, Port Checker, SSL Certificate Checker.
- Check your browser privacy: WebRTC Leak Test, Browser Fingerprint Test.
- Work with addresses: subnet calculators and IP converters, plus plain-language guides about IP addresses, IPv6, VPNs and proxies.
- Use it from a terminal:
curl ipv4.whatismyipnow.comandcurl ipv6.whatismyipnow.com(details).
Where the data comes from
- Your IP address is the address your connection arrives from, as reported by our network provider, Cloudflare.
- Location, ISP and ASN come from the MaxMind GeoLite2 databases, which we keep on our own server. IP location is an estimate: the country is usually right, the city often is not, especially on mobile networks.
- WHOIS data comes live from the regional internet registries through RDAP (ARIN, RIPE NCC, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC).
- DNS, ping, traceroute, port and SSL checks run live from our server each time you use them. Nothing is cached or made up.
- Calculators and converters run in your browser. What you type there is not sent to us.
- The privacy indicator on the homepage checks whether your IP is a Tor exit node or belongs to a hosting or VPN network. It is a hint, not proof.
How the site is funded
The tools are free because the site shows ads from Google AdSense. The Hide My IP page also contains affiliate links to VPN providers: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission. This never changes what a tool shows you. See the Privacy Policy for cookies and ads, and the Terms of Service.
